Nicole Crowley – Courtenay Taaffe Scholarship 2014

Congratulations to Nicole Crowley selected for the 2014 Courtenay Taaffe Scholarship.

Nicole comes from a strong rugby background with her father a former NZ All Black and the current Canada men’s XVs coach. She has made her own mark as captain of the BC U18 team which claimed Gold this year at the Nationals.

UVic women won bronze at the CIS Canada West tournament this year, their best finish in many years.

Favourite memory growing up: Taking our pet lambs to compete in A&P shows (its kind of like a dog show but its outside for your pet lamb)
Position played: Scum-half and Fly-half
First year playing rugby: 2012

Most influential person in life: Kieran Crowley
Favourite rugby memory: Would have to be at the 2013 National Festival when we were playing Alberta in the semi-final and we scored off of a 11 man line-out drive!
Worst rugby memory: Losing to Ontario in the National Final at UBC in 2013 (But we finally beat them this summer! 😉 )
Favourite movie: The Blind side
Favourite musician: Luke Bryan
Favourite book: Divergent
Career plans: Hopefully one day become a CEO in a company I am passionate for
Rugby goals in next 2 years: Continue to work on my skills and develop as a player and see where it takes me
Favourite other hobby: Spending time with my friends and family! xox
