The new Courtney Walls Academic and Rugby Bursary Fund has a website.
Through the Canadian Rugby Foundation and theCentral Okanagan Rugby Enthusiasts endowment fund, the web page (www.courtneywallsbursary.ca) has been established to raise funds for the bursary.
For every $10,000 raised, a $500 award will be given annually to the Okanagan Mission graduating student rugby player achieving at least a 3.0 GPA.
The bursary is in memory of Walls, a dedicated supporter of rugby who was the team captain of one of the strongest rugby teams ever at OKM.
On the bursary website it reads: “Courtney was the first one in to every ruck, but could break free into the open field with deceptive ease. He also made every team he played for better with his leadership.
“Courtney was also unique socially. He was everyone’s best friend and he lived up to his high standards. He was famous for being a champion of friends who did not fit the ‘popular’ definition and single-handedly brought people together who would otherwise have never met.”
