Amanda Sussman – Thomas Family Scholarship 2016

Congratulations to Amanda Sussman selected for the 2016 Thomas Family Scholarship.

Birthplace: Toronto, ON
Favourite memory growing up: Having family dinner every night at the end of a school day.
Position played: Scrumhalf
First year playing rugby: Grade 10 (2010)
Favourite coach: My current university coach Gareth Williams. I would say he has by far had the biggest impact on my development as a rugby player.
Most influential person in life: My mother
Favourite rugby memory: Scoring my first try against Trent University as a Varsity Blue on home field. Not just scoring the try but being embraced by my two captains who have also been such big rugby role models for me.
Worst rugby memory: Getting my first and only yellow card.
Favourite movie: It’s hard to choose just one because I love movies. If I had to choose I think it would be the Rocky series.
Favourite musician: I don’t have a favourite musician because my taste in music is so eclectic.
Favourite book: The Great Gatsby
Career Plans: I am hoping to get the opportunity to work with elite athletes in the rehabilitation stream of things.
Rugby goals in next 2 years: Be able to represent Ontario.
Favourite other hobbies: Watching movies and TV shows
