Adrienne Saari – George Jones Scholarship 2014

Congratulations to Adrienne Saari selected as one of the winners of the 2014 George Jones Scholarship.

Adrienne was a member of Cowichan’s high school 7s championship team in 2013, scoring the winning try in extra time to claim the Provincial title.

She is currently part of the University of Victoria team. UVic won bronze this year at the Canada West tournament, their best finish in recent history.

Favourite memory growing up: Walking or biking to the Wabamun provincial park with my family

Position played: flank, 8, second row

First year playing rugby: 2010

Favourite rugby memory: Grade 11 sevens, and fifteens BC High school Provincial championships

Worst rugby memory: Losing to Ontario in the final at Nationals in 2013

Favourite movie: The Wizard of Oz

Favourite musician: Pink

Favourite book: Imagine of the Pacific Kingdom

Career plans: Physical Therapist

Rugby goals in next 2 years: Make it to Canwest, and then Nationals with the Uvic Women’s Rugby team

Favourite other hobby: Painting
