Tausani Levale – John Cannon Memorial Fund 2017

Tausani  is the inaugural award recipient from the John Cannon Memorial Fund, she came through the Abbotsford Rugby Club program. She was accepted to the centralized 7s program in Langford  in 2017 and won her first cap for Canada in December 2017.

Birthplace: Tofino BC

Favourite memory growing up: Going back to visit my true hometown, Ahousaht.

Position played: Mostly Fly half but I’ve been put just about everywhere except wing.

First year playing rugby: 2012

Favourite Coach: I’ve had too many great coaches to choose

Most influential person in life: My uncle Nelson

Favourite rugby memory: When I made my transition from soccer to rugby and I finally understood what people meant when they say their team is like family. I had never felt like my team was family in any sport other than Rugby.

Worst rugby memory: Losing my friend and teammate, Chantal Maclean

Favourite movie: Monsters inc.

Favourite musician: Frank Ocean

Favourite book: The Glass Castle
