2012 in Review

The Canadian Rugby Foundation had a successful year in 2012 raising over 300,000 through various events. Residual salary costs, grants to organization and individuals consumed a significant part of revenue. However our endowments grew by approximately $200,000 and we now have over $2,000,000 in trust a significant milestone for the Canadian Rugby Foundation.

On the administrative end the Canadian Rugby Foundation is run almost entirely by volunteers and the board of directors. We have two paid part time book-keepers and administrative staff, Bethany Linge and and forward administrative costs are budgeted at approximately 1 percent of assets. Our Treasurer John Wrafter together with the help of Breann King have done an amazing job keeping the books reconciled and up to date and dealing with the day to day correspondence and administration necessary.

After a very busy year on the fundraising front in 2012 the upcoming year looks to be less so. Initiatives to fund mini-rugby and assist Rugby Canada with player support funding are being analysed and will hopefully come to fruition in the year. Thanks go out to all the board of directors and their contributions and commitment.
