The Westshore RFC has a long rich history dating back to 1968, originally called Velox RFC. It merged with the UVic Alumni Rugby Club in 1987 to form the Velox Valhallians. With a location move from Gordon Head beside UVic to the Westshore of Victoria, the club changed its name to Westshore Velox RFC. Westshore RFC plays in both the BC Men’s Premier and BC Men’s Premier Reserve (1st Division) divisions.
The Westshore RFC Fund was established on July 25, 2011 originally as the Velox Valhallians RFC Fund. The Fund is intended to provide funding from its endowment and from capital withdrawals that continue the objects of the Westshore RFC and are consistent with the broad objects and purposes of Rugby Canada and the Canadian Rugby Foundation to develop and grow rugby across Canada while meeting all CRA requirements.
