We are a progressive club with a proud history and a brilliant future.\u00a0Serving Toronto\u2019s downtown and west-end\u2019s children, youth and adults, schools and neighbourhoods, Nomads provide programs for girls, boys, women and men from kindergarten to oldies.\u00a0\u00a0Nomads Alumni, wherever they reside, are an important component of Nomads Rugby Club and remain engaged with the club after their playing days end.<\/p>\n<p>Nomads Rugby believes strongly that club rugby is the foundation of our great game. We are committed to being a world-class rugby club in all respects both on and off the field. Accordingly we aim to provide the best possible environment for our teams, players, coaches, referees and administrators to develop and prosper. And it seems to be working &#8211; we are one of only five Ontario clubs, and the sole Toronto rugby club, whose men\u2019s and women\u2019s team both play in the top Ontario competitions, the Marshall League and OWL respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Nomads\u2019 past and present members\u2019 countries of origin of reads like a list of members of the United Nations. This international influence is reflected in Nomads club spirit, culture and, importantly, social life. It\u2019s one of the features that sets us apart and we are most proud of.\u00a0Our objectives extend to being a positive and progressive force in our rugby and general communities in our local area, Toronto, Ontario and Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Nomads Rugby is a non-share capital corporation (number 1083672) incorporated under the Corporations Act (Ontario). Nomads Rugby is a not-for-profit organization within the meaning of paragraph 149(1) (l) of the Income Tax Act (Canada).\u00a0The Letter Patent of the Nomads Rugby dated August 16, 1994, state:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(a) The Objects: \u201cThe objects for which the corporation is incorporated are: The establishment and operation of a rugby club for the purposes of:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">i. a. Promoting the interests of Rugby Union Football as a member of the Ontario Rugger Union;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">ii. b. Arranging matches and establishing and granting distinctions; and competitions, and prizes, awards and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">iii. c. fostering goodwill and sportsmanship; and d. such other complementary purposes not inconsistent with these objects.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(b) Special Provisions\u201d \u201cThe special provisions are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">i. For the purpose of the objects of the Corporation to accept gifts, donations and bequests<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\">ii. The Corporation shall be carried on without the purpose of gain for its members, and any profits or other accretions to the Corporations shall be used in promoting its objects\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/canadianrugbyfoundation.ca\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Fletchers-Fields-Logo-1.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-2627 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/canadianrugbyfoundation.ca\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Fletchers-Fields-Logo-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"235\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Under the Fletcher\u2019s Fields Limited Agreement, a fund (the \u201cToronto Nomads Rugby Endowment Fund\u201d) was established in the amount of $50,000.<\/p>\n<p>The Foundation and FFL have entered into a donation agreement (the \u201cFFL Agreement\u201d), effective June 1st 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Under the Fletcher\u2019s Fields Limited Agreement, a fund (the \u201cToronto Nomads Rugby Endowment Fund\u201d) was established in the amount of $50,000<\/p>\n<p>The Fund is intended to provide funding from its endowment, and from capital disbursements that continue the objects of FFL. These include:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(a) To encourage and further the game of rugby in Ontario and Canada in accordance with the rules of World Rugby;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(b) To actively support rugby players in the Province of Ontario by furnishing equipment, kit, and facilities for the game of rugby; and<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">(c) To promote all forms of rugby recognized by World Rugby and to arrange matches and rugby competitions and to offer or grant and contribute towards prizes, awards, scholarships, and honorariums related to playing rugby in the province of Ontario.<\/p>\n<p><strong>USE THE FORM BELOW TO DONATE TO THE <b>TORONTO NOMADS RUGBY ENDOWMENT<\/b> FUND:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><script id=\"ch_cdn_embed\" type=\"text\/javascript\" src=\"https:\/\/www.canadahelps.org\/secure\/js\/cdf_embed.2.js\" charSet=\"utf-8\" data-language=\"en\" data-page-id=\"78192\" data-root-url=\"https:\/\/www.canadahelps.org\" data-formtype=\"0\" data-cfasync=\"false\"><\/script><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Established in 1950 Nomads Rugby is one of the Toronto\u2019s original six rugby clubs.
