Hamilton Ontario has been home to Rugby Football teams since 1929 and the success and grittiness of these early teams helped define Hamilton’s Rugby roots. In 1954 Hamilton Hornets Rugby Football Club was established and has been steadily growing ever since. We now promote senior men’s and women’s teams, rugby programs for children and youth from ages 7 to 19, as well as a well supported Alumni section. We regularly host teams from all over the world and reciprocate with our regular senior and youth team tours. The club has enjoyed many successes winning numerous league titles and cups and our members have provided representation at provincial and national playing levels as well as administrative positions.
The Hornets strive to promote an enriching environment where rugby can be played and the culture enjoyed by all ages and backgrounds, regardless of gender or ability, through active volunteerism & membership participation within the Club and the Hamilton community.
In order to sustain, improve and grow the opportunities afforded by our programs and in partnership with The Canadian Rugby Foundation we have created The Hamilton Hornets Rugby Fund. This will provide us with the ability to utilize funds for capital projects as well as an endowment fund to assist with scholarships, hardship programs, youth, coach and referee development and high-performance player assistance.
